Meet your Host Angel Hixson

Angel is a special needs mother and fierce advocate for her special needs community. She is the Co-Host of A Special Kind of Chaos Podcast and she shares her journey as a special needs mom to a blended family and the complex needs of raising her severely disabled son. She shares her experiences through humor and candid stories, ultimately showing that even through the struggle you can find positivity and you don’t have to do it alone. She is also a special education Parent Liaison where she provides guidance, support and resources to families of students with disabilities. She is the Director of Special Projects and one of the founding members of Special Care Angels, as well as, Club Chaos a summer recreational program for children with disabilities that allows them to fully participate in an inclusive “Summer Camp”. Angel founded PEP - Parents Empowering Parents support Group, as well as, served with several other organizations within her community.  She is an Ukeru Trainer, Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Certified and is a certified Special Needs Life Coach. Meet your Host Christa Poe

Christa is a special needs mother and parent advocate, helping to bring resources to special needs families in her community.  She is the Co-Host of A Special Kind of Chaos Podcast, she shares about her life as a special needs mom and all the things that comes with this life. Humor is Christa’s favorite way to navigate the struggles that come with her journey. She has found that sharing her struggles and stories has helped to raise awareness to what live with “complex needs” really looks like. Her ultimate goal is to lift each other up as we navigate their special needs journey together.  Christa founded Team Vacaville, a nonprofit for children and adults with disabilities.  She helped to create a buddy based program that allows special needs children and adults to grow and experience new opportunities in their community. Most recently, she has launched the P.E.P. Solano County Parents of Disabled Adults group to offer resources,  raise awareness, offer support and ultimately life each other as we navigate this journey together.  You can reach Christa at ChristaPoe@specialkindofchaos.com.
